Review of the current scheme

As a first step, stakeholder engagement will be undertaken to understand the effectiveness of the current scheme and areas for improvement.

All existing credits will be reviewed against ISCA’s design principles and scheme intent to ensure they align. The review will attempt to reduce the evidence burden wherever possible and ensure there is a better balance between effort and reward. In addition, version 2.0 will be developed according to the International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labeling (ISEAL) codes of good practice and will better align with global sustainability frameworks such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).

Content

1. Update the existing credits

 The steps involved are:

  1. Preliminary industry research and engagement
  2. Creation of Advisory Groups, where necessary, to guide credit updates and development
  3. Re-benchmark and update or develop credits including evidence requirements and references

The scheme update will follow the scheme review and update procedures:

  1. Scheme Review and Update Procedure
  2. Category Credit Update Procedure
  3. Category Credit Development Procedure

 ISv2.0 Draft structure
