The seminar was attended by 37 RMS employees from the Infrastructure Development Division (IDD), Strategy and Engagement division (S&E), Journey Management Division (JMD) and Safety and Compliance division.

The main objective of the seminar was to gain a better understanding of how the IS rating process drives improved outcomes, including environmental performance outcomes and benchmarking across projects.

The seminar provided an overview of how the IS rating scheme can be applied to road projects and included:

  • Drivers for infrastructure sustainability
  • Role of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA)
  • Overview of the IS rating tool
  • Case Study: Gateway WA
  • Case Study: North-South Corridor (Torrens Road to River Torrens) (SA)

The workshop was facilitated by Hayley Jarick and Rick Walters (ISCA) and coordinated for Roads and Maritime Services by Rebecca Monckton (Acting Senior Environmental Specialist (Sustainability), Environment Branch, Strategy and Engagement).
