The Australasian Certification Authority for Reinforcing and Structural Steels (“ACRS”) owns and administers three consumer-oriented, independent, expert, not-for-profit, third-party steel certification schemes: Product Conformity, Product Traceability, and Quality Systems.
ACRS unique, 2-stage certification scheme conducts 8 areas of review and decision-making of the conformity of steel products to one or more of 19 applicable Standards ( “Product Requirements”) and, additionally, the requirements of the ACRS scheme giving confidence to end-users that the finished steel delivered to construction projects has been suitably assessed for conformity.
All ACRS assessment and review is undertaken by ACRS own qualified and experienced metallurgists and engineers, and all certification decisions are made by an ACRS expert committee drawn from specifiers, designers, and consumer peak bodies to deliver the most rigorous scheme available for certification of steel construction materials to Australian and New Zealand requirements.
